Apparel Construction and Design

I'm Meena Pittman, a student pursuing a degree in apparel construction and design.

I debuted my brand at Omaha Fashion Week Spring 2024. In the span of a year i’ve participated in Omaha Fashion Week, the West 18th Street Fashion Show, Denver Fashion Week and Kansas City Fashion Week.

The contradictions of femininity generally inspire my work. Women are kind and pure, often placed on a pedestal and stored behind glass. Although women are beautiful, they're also provocative and gross. Femininity is complex, and I hope to empower anyone wearing 'MR.’ with that notion.

The juxtaposition of purity and filth of femininity is my creative muse. The main goal of this collection was to translate the inside composition of the human body, into apparel that is worn on the outside. Bones, organs, anatomy, the parts of us concealed by our skin, now exposed. I wanted the collection to be simultaneously gory, gross and slutty, feminine.

My magnum opus, my passion project; The Cardiovascuwhore collection started as an assignment from school. For the final CAD project, we were to show our knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create a completed collection plan comprised of flat sketches.
